Note: Formed in Chicago's South Side c. 1955 as The Fortunes, later recorded both as The Starr Brothers and Donald Jenkins & the Daylighters/Delighters. Earlier, Donald Jenkins was a member of another South Side vocal group The Five Chimes (with Maurice Simpkins, Clarence Seymour, Joseph Miller and Lonnie Powe). Tenor/lead vocalist Jenkins was then replaced by a bass singer Rufus Hunter (later member of a touring Magnificents group and a recording line-up of The Cameos). Before joining The Fortunes, Ronnie Strong was a part of the Hambone Kids with Dee Clark and Sammy McGrier.
