Note: The session held in Chicago on September 4, 1955 (Vee Jay 155 + b-side of Vee-Jay 213) with Jay McShann & his Orchestra (Jay McShann:pno, Orville Minor:tp, Oscar Dennis:ts, Eugene Griddline:gtr, Oscar Wesley:bs, Al Duncan:dms) gave also birth to unissued versions of "I Don't Need Your Lovin'" and "Don't Treat Me This Way" + instrumentals "Jay's Jam" and "Four Plus" which were issued on Vee-Jay 191 (6/1956). Vee-Jay 179, a-side of Vee-Jay 213 and unissued "Who Needs a Man" were recorded in Chicago on January 31, 1956 with similar back-up group added with Art Mitchell on alto/baritone saxophone.

Falcon/Abner 1004 and Falcon 1008 were recorded on August 13, 1957 at Universal Recording, Chicago. The same line-up (Al Smith:ldr, Lucius Washington:ts, Horace Palm:pno, Lefty Bates: gtr, prob. Quinn Wilson:bs & Al Duncan:dms) without Priscilla Bowman, tenor saxophonist Marcus Johnson and baritone saxophonist McKinley Easton recorded also at the same session an instrumental titled 'Jammin' for Diggy' which was first time issued as by Lucius Washington Quintet on a French compilation 'Jazzville Chicago Vol.2' in 1961 (Top Rank RLP 111).

According to 'Al Smith session discography' by Armin BŁttner, Robert Campbell and Robert Pruter (on Red Saunders Research Foundation page), there was probably an Abner 1008 to replace Falcon 1008, but this has not been verified.

Abner 1018 featured The Spaniels (James Hudson, Carl Rainge, Don Porter, James Cochran & Gerald Gregory) on background vocals.
